Be excited!

Today, I am focusing on being excited!

Don't worry! I'm still celebrating my small victories. However, as I sat here drinking my shake (SO YUMMY!) this morning, I decided I needed to be excited. About what? About everything!

I have a very busy weekend coming up today. I have a huge order to complete for my day job this weekend. I'm not exactly looking forward to it, but I'm going to be excited about it. It's a boost in sales! Why wouldn't I be excited?!

So, I've decided to start implementing my "excitement plan," which is basically the idea of getting excited over anything.

Already today I have things to be excited about:

1. I woke up! I'm still alive! I still have a life to lead!
2. I had hot water for my shower! This is not an uncommon experience for me, but think about the people in the world who do not have that luxury. It makes me really happy that I have that opportunity!
3. I had my favorite shake for breakfast! YES!!! It doesn't get better than that.
4. This tea is getting me so jazzed! I love Herbalife Tea! I need to do a spotlight on it VERY SOON!
5. It's PAY DAY! Why wouldn't I be excited?!

See... it's that easy! Be excited! Even if you don't feel 100%, your mindset can mean a huge difference in whatever goal you are trying to reach!!

Small Victories

When I decided to step on the scale this morning, I was very hesitant. My dedication to my nutrition plan has been somewhat lacking. I've made some terrible food/snack choices this week, but I had also made some really good choices with some meals and activity. Needless to say, I had expected to maintain if not gain a little. So, imagine my surprise when I had LOST another 2 lbs. Nope, not a joke. Not an exaggeration to get people interested in products. Nothing of the sort. The truth is I'm down 2 more lbs, which means a total of 27 lbs.

This prompted today's theme: "Small Victories."

Life is full of ups and down, and as cliche as it sounds, "It's not about the destination. It's about the journey." I have recently started to realize how true that is. So, I've started celebrating the small victories in my life. Today's victory is being celebrated with this:

MY CAFE LATTE SHAKE!

You may be thinking, "Sarah, you have that every morning," and you would be right. However, when you love something as much as I love this particular shake, it feels celebratory no matter what. It's delicious and nutritious.

Two pounds may not seem like a lot, but when you've struggled with weight as long as I have, even the smallest of losses (whether they be on the scale or measurements) is cause for celebration. Recently, I had not one, but two, interviews for a new job. Have I been offered the job? No, but I celebrated anyway. Why? Because after submitting application after application after application (nearly 20 times) and not getting contacted for any of them, I finally got an interview. Small victory!

So, here's my challenge to you:

This week, I challenge you to celebrate any small victories that you achieve. Be brilliant. Thank the universe or God or your hard work or your own blind luck that something, no matter how small, worked out in your favor! But, most importantly, know that it is YOUR victory! It belongs to you, no one else!

Welcome!

Hello all!

After much deliberation, I have decided to separate my personal blog and my business blog. This blog will solely be dedicated to my journey with Herbalife whether it be my personal weight loss successes and setbacks, product spotlights, or business opportunities. I want to share this journey with you.

Why?

Well, it's simple. I love Herbalife! The products have helped me achieve weight loss, given me more energy, and made me feel better overall. Results vary for everyone, but this is what the program has done for me.

Could I be more diligent with my nutrition plan? Absolutely. I've skipped shakes. I've forgotten tablets. I've had more than one cheat meal per week. Do I believe my results would be even better if I had been more diligent? Positively, absolutely... YES!

You may be thinking, "But Sarah, how exactly does it work?" My first reply as a customer, "MAGIC!" However, my reply as a health coach is, "I am so glad you asked! Let me give you a glimpse into my day."

First, let me tell you I had never thought about cellular nutrition until I was introduced to Herbalife by my personal health coach. (Yes, health coaches have health coaches!) Now, I'm not sure I can view nutrition any differently, but I'll post about that later.

Here's a typical Monday-Friday for me. I'm specifying M-F because I may sleep a little later on weekends/holidays (like today... Happy Labor Day!) which means things happen a little later.

Here we go:

6 AM: wake up/shower
6:30 AM: Herbalife tea (my favorite flavor is peach) and tabs (Multivitamin aka Formula 2, Cell Activator aka Formula 3, Cell-U-Loss, and Total Control).
6:45 AM: SHAKE! Right now, my favorite shake is Cafe Latte Formula 1, Vanilla Protein Drink Mix, a tablespoon of instant coffee crystals, unsweetened almond milk, and ice all blended together into what I call "a frappe with far less calories and extra vitamins, minerals, and amino acids." It's delicious! Of course, Formula 1 comes in many different flavors. Try them all. Experiment. Find out what taste best to you!
7:45 AM: Go to work (I spend the hour between relaxing and enjoying my shake. Sometimes, I work on my Herbalife business. It really just depends on the day.)
9 AM: Morning snack! This can be anything from a handful of almonds to carrots and celery to yogurt, or Herbalife Protein Beverage Mix if I don't have time to chew. (Sometimes, I can be really busy at work.) The most important thing is to keep it tasty and nutritious and clean.
11 AM: LUNCH SHAKE! I take the tabs mentioned above with it! I have many different shakes I have for lunch. I'm particularly fond of French Vanilla Formula 1, a tablespoon or two of PB2, and unsweetened almond milk mixed together in a yummy delicious peanut butter shake!
2/3 PM: Afternoon snack! I reserve this for FRUIT! I love fruit! I love naturally sweet things because they allow me to have sweet without the added sugar.
6/7 PM: DINNER w/ TABS (minus the cell activator)! (No, it's not a shake.) It's a delicious, colorful meal! I'm not going to lie. I'm still a novice when it comes to cooking... especially healthy cooking. However, I'm learning as I go. I know many people say "I couldn't stand to eat baked chicken that much." Well, I don't just eat baked chicken, but I do eat it a lot. Good thing I do enjoy it!

I try not to eat any later than that. Any hunger that occurs after dinner is usually dehydration. There will be a post about the benefits of water, as well.

So, that's a typical day for me. Does it seem overwhelming? I cannot lie. It seemed overwhelming to me when I first started. I stay VERY busy at work. It took quite a while for me to figure out how to fit in snacks. Some days, I still struggle. However, a member of my time once told me that taking those moments is saying, "I am important." I believe that, therefore I always try to take them.

Well, this feels like a wonderful start. I hope this has given you an insight into my journey to a healthier, better me. Below is a picture of the program I am currently using. It is the Advanced program.

Have a wonderful Labor Day!

**An extensive questionnaire generated responses from more than 200 U.S. Herbalife Independent Distributors about their weight-loss programs and results. They reported weight loss ranging from 4 pounds to 167 pounds and a reduced body mass index (BMI) of 1.5 points to 24.1 points, suggesting that consumption of Herbalife products is associated with weight loss and improvement in BMI in those ranges.**
